Twinkle toes Tanya Simmons got kicked out of the local ballet school at age 5. More than three decades later she bravely took part in the 2014 Hastings Celebrity Dance for Cancer to raise funds for the Cancer Council, helping to raise nearly $60 thousand dollars for cancer council initiatives locally. This entire event was way out of Tanya's comfort zone but she somehow managed to take home the title of Peoples Choice on the night. The fact that she looked like she had the most fun of all the dancers & absolutely had the largest and loudest group of supporters in the crowd certainly helped her get this title.
"It was one of the scariest things I have ever done, dancing in front of so many people but the overwhelming feeling of pride overtook all the nerves."
